Chorlio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a parental chore management app that helps families teach children responsibility through play. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our mobile application and website at chorlio.com (together, the “Service”).
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. If you subscribe through our website quiz flow, we collect your email before you reach the payment page.
Parents add children to their family account. We collect the child’s name (or nickname) as provided by the parent. Children do not create their own accounts — all child profiles are created and managed by the parent.
We store information about tasks created by parents, task completion status, points earned, and rewards. When a child submits photo proof of a completed task, the photo is stored securely and is only visible to the parent and child within the family account.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or full payment details on our servers. Stripe collects and processes payment information in accordance with their Privacy Policy. We receive only a confirmation of payment status, subscription plan, and your email address from Stripe.
The Chorlio mobile app may collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for the purpose of delivering push notifications and enabling the app-blocking feature on children’s devices.
We use the following analytics services to understand how the Service is used and to improve the experience:
These services may collect information such as pages visited, buttons clicked, device type, browser type, and approximate location (based on IP address). Analytics are collected on the website and may be collected in the mobile app.
If you submit feedback through our website, we collect your name, email address, message, and any screenshot you choose to attach. Screenshots are stored on Supabase. Feedback notifications are sent to our team via Resend.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use children’s data for advertising purposes.
We share information only with the following categories of service providers, and only as necessary to operate the Service:
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to comply with a legal process.
Chorlio is designed for families. Children use the app under parental supervision, and child profiles are created exclusively by parents.
Parents can review, modify, or delete their children’s information at any time through the app. If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate parental consent, please contact us at hello@chorlio.com and we will promptly delete the data.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your subscription, your account data is retained for a reasonable period to allow reactivation, after which it is deleted.
Task photos are retained while the associated task exists and are deleted when the parent deletes the task or account.
Analytics data is retained according to the retention policies of each analytics provider.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), secure storage of credentials, and access controls on our systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately.
